OBJECTIVE

Design a set of two t-shirts to promote the upcoming 2017 Senior Showcase and Senior Dance Concert for the Department of Theatre and Dance at Sacramento State. The t-shirts must only use one color. Content was provided beforehand.

PROCESS

An important part of this project was client communication. Each t-shirt had a specific director and point of contact within the department. Each client also had a specific request such as using imagery that had already been selected. The biggest obstacle that I faced was figuring out how to turn these preexisting assets (a complex hard copy of an illustration for Senior Showcase and a photograph for Senior Dance Concert) into 1-color print comprehensive designs. 

Ultimately, I decided to illustrate over each image. I recreated the Senior Showcase illustration to simplify it for print and drew over the Senior Dance Concert photograph to turn it into a vector graphic. Once the content for the back of the shirt was finalized, I used graphic elements from the front to highlight certain information and create a more cohesive system.
